Before Spray Nine® was created people had to mix their own cleaning solutions by adding powders or concentrated chemicals into a bucket full of water. This often proved to be messy, inconvenient and ineffective.

In 1956, a young duo of entrepreneurs from upstate New York - an innovative chemist and an astute corporate lawyer - introduced the world's first ready-to-use cleaning solution that could also degrease and disinfect surfaces. They named their creation Spray Nine®, which grew to become a flagship product.
